So today was a particularly special day for me. It was also a bearer of more bad news, but it held something special, too. I was at work, serving for our dinner theatre, when two out of four of my grandmothers showed up! Well, one of them isn't technically a grandma, but I've called her Grandma Olive my whole life. She used to live in the same town as me (population 25), basically right across the road. And my other grandma, Grandma Mavis, is my dad's first wife's (who died years ago) mom. It's particularly special because this means I have seen all four of my grandmas in the same week. My Grandma Ellen, who's my mom's mom, when we went to Edmonton to see my sister, and my Oma when we were coming back from the city. I told my mom this- the realization, and she said that that will never happen again. And I believe her- the sad truth is that they're all getting quite old, and unfortunately I don't see them living for another ten years. Well maybe Grandma Ellen, but she's significantly younger than the rest.
However today also came with bad news. Family health issues, family car issues, my sister still not hearing back from the Turkish Airlines (who are now in charge of fixing the ticket situation), and the stress of packing is finally upon me. I leave for school in about a week and a half, and have nothing packed. So I think that in the hour and a half of break time between shifts tomorrow, I'm going to grab a couple boxes and start packing. There's not a lot I can do right now, since I'm still using everything, but I can start with the school supplies. Books and papers and pens and stuff. Go through all of that and see what I actually need or use. Maybe finish the ten thousand projects I started- drawings and letters and such. Can I do all that in an hour and a half? Depends on the music I'm listening to, I suppose.
I dyed my hair today with my friend Shannon. She was a brunette/red head. Now she's blonde. Next week she's going a different, lighter shade of brunette/red. Hence the bleaching. I had already previously bleached my hair, but since it was a red/purple, it kinda turned gold and orange. So I lightened it significantly. What used to be the gold is now a white blonde, which is awesome, and the once orange colour is now a similar gold colour to what the other part of my hair was before. And it's streaked, and it just looks awesome. When I get tired of the blonde though, which will probably be about a month in to school, I plan on dying it blue. Why? Because I can, you dimwat. :)
