My Notebook

Have you ever wanted to get inside the head of a visual artist? Probably not, since it's scary dark in there, but should you ever find yourself bored and come across the sketchbook, or in my case the notebook, of an artist, go ahead and take a gander. With their permission of course. The sketchbook of an artist holds more than drawings of potential paintings or maquettes of future sculptures. They house ideas, thoughts, inspirations, and reminders most prevalent that particular day. Visual artists are, surprise surprise, visual learners. And I know for myself personally, I detest technology. I did the calendar on my phone thing for a year and I didn't like it. So starting with the beginning of my second year at Red Deer College, I kept a notebook. Different from a journal and different from a sketchbook, this book kept every reminder, important homework assignments, and notes. So if you're bored, and have the time to spare... take a gander through my second year of Art School, uncensored and busy.

I said this book was uncensored. Well, it is, with a couple exceptions. There were some dreams that I had written in a very light pen and then took a blurry picture, so I just decided to cut that, and then there were a couple pages that I just didn't think were necessary to display. Either for their content, or for the sheer lack of legibility. (I have spilled my fair share of coffee, paint, and gross paint water on this book).

Thanks for reading. I never claimed to be funny, inspiring, or smart. I only have written documents of where my brain was, and what I felt was important to remember.
Thanks again. Stay tuned for next time :)
