This is the first display. Mom wanted it to be the 'colour' unit. So there are super large, brightly coloured piggy banks, Christmas mugs and trays and cookie jars and ornaments. And such. I did a great job displaying the bottom middle section. It's a huge cubby- goes really far into the wall. So it's super difficult to make it look good. But I did :) (I'm not usually this.. this. I'm just super proud of my job. That's all)

This is the second section I did yesterday. We typically have a dog section and a cat section, but we don't have enough cat and dog things to devote separate displays to them, so I made this cubby unit the animal section. So there're cat, dog, sheep, and pig things, as well as various animal ornaments and such. It's fun :)

This is a mini display I did. Window benches- mom got in during the summer a bunch of glass round ornaments, and so we had put them in these tall jars (there're two different sizes of ornaments and jars), and we stuck them on the bench! I like it. It's pretty.
This is a quick picture of the view you get if you enter through the corner door (main entrance into the shop). It's still super messy, and, as you can see, the cart is in the middle of the picture. But I was going for a picture to give you the approximate size of the shop. You can't really tell, so I might end up taking a better one near opening.
So that's what I did this week instead of school! Oh the joys of homeschooling! Tomorrow night my youth group is having a Halloween party. We're having biblically themed costumes, and pumpkin carving, and worship- usually a great time. I'm so stoked for my costume. I've been working on it for hours, both today and yesterday. I'm going for the whole "armour of God" theme. So I have the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and sword of the spirit. Can't wait to put it all on! I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them probably Monday.
Last year for our Halloween 'party' I was the creation of Genesis. So my face was painting half white with a sun, half black with a moon, and I had fish earrings and a people pin and star ribbon in my hair.. a lot more, but I don't want to list every detail. I found a few pictures...
Bit blurry. But boy was it a pain to try to get my clothes to be half white half black. Lots of safety pins, that's for sure!
Some of the youth and some of the... not-so-youthful. See the guy in red behind me? Yeah. That's my bo. ^_^
This wasn't as gross as I thought it would be. We played this game.. we had to say names or words or whatever the theme was for the round, and when bread that we had in a toaster popped, whoever was the person who was to say the thing next had to eat whatever Paul drew out of a mystery bag. Mine was the combination of it all, as it was the last round.. peanut butter, honey, ketchup, mustard, and bar-be-que sauce. I just chewed without it touching my taste buds and tried not to think about what I was eating. I think Eva (on my left) was more grossed out about it than I was.
What do you guys usually do on Halloween? Dress up and party all night? Still go trick-or-treating? Sigh. My bro's a year younger than me and he still goes trick-or-treating. Stay at home and hand candy out to kids? I would, except for the fact that we live in the middle of no where and kids never show up.. Sigh. I'm thinking of taking a bucket of candy to town, and sitting down somewhere, and if kids find me, then they get candy. Could be fun :)
