Dr. Who is Way Awesome
So I recall saying not too long ago in this blog that it would basically be about the life of a homeschooler. However, there isn't really much to read if I don't out anything out there in the first place. Crazy, that concept is. I would very much like to say I've been busy, but the truth is I'm just lazy. Like literally lazy. Not the kind of lazy where you sit in front of the tv all sha eating junk food and flipping through the channels (we don't actually have tv, for starters), but I'm the kind of lazy where it takes me forever to get motivated to actually do something, and then it's way too easy to distract me from that thing I've been meanin to get done. Even if that distraction entails me sitting on my bed and staring off into space. Somehow, for some reason, I'd rather be doing that than something I really enjoy doing. Like takin pictures and putting them on my blog.
I've accepted that I'm kinda hopeless. But that's why you love me so much :)
Alright, so getting back to the life of a homeschooler. I'm all graduated now, and many people have asked me how one in my position actually graduates. Is there a ceremony? Do I get a diploma? Etc. Now I can't answer for all homeschoolers, since every school system is different, but in my case I can say that yes, my school 'base' in Vermillion did hold a student recognition thing, but I chose not to go to that. Pretty much no point, since I didn't know anyone there and no one knew me, and it wasn't an actual graduation ceremony thing. I will be holding (God willing) a graduation gala/backyard bash in my backyard (ingenious, no?) end of August, so that will be fun. In terms of getting a diploma, I don't actually know. I would assume so, but I'm not 100% positive. If I do get one, I would again assume that I would be after I get my diploma marks back, ensuring that I did actually pass my grade 12 year.
Since we're on the subject of diploma exams, let's explore that a little bit. I only had two diplomas to do- English part a and b, and social part a and b. I didn't take any maths or sciences, because I didn't need the courses or the. Desire to graduate, and frankly I just really hate everything that has to do with those two subjects. I'm not going to go in to explaining the exams or anything, but I am going to say that sitting at a table for three hours straight trying to write two different essays back to back with no sign of a distraction (computer game, tv show) to interupt me was painful! Not physically, but I'm not one of those people who can sit for log periods of time simply doing one thing. So those diplomas were a challenge, in more than just the course work that I had to do. Course work = assignments for the diploma. Essays and multiple choice. But anyway, those are now done, but I won't know if I actually passed or not until near the end of August. Bah humbuger!!
Well, it's midnight and my iPod has less than 20% of battery life left. So I'm gonna leave this as .. This, and hopefully write some more later. Hopefully.. Yeah, we'll see. Farewell!
