Art Time: Some Final Touches

As it is now the end of the semester, I have little art to show. But there was one thing I did in painting class that I haven't shown yet, and that's my great big self portrait. I'm about 89% happy with it, so here it is.

As I mentioned, it's pretty huge. Done on recycled board because magazine clippings don't tend to stay on canvas very well. The idea was that since this was a self portrait, and I want to go into fashion design, I would use magazine clippings from this great big awesome fashion magazine I found at Chapters to be the base. And since collage work is also my main form of painting, and is what I love to do the most, I figured it just made sense. The image was a picture I took of myself beginning of September, and when I presented it I had just dyed my hair purple, and everyone said I should have made my hair purple in the painting as well. But since that's not what it was when I took the picture, I left myself blonde.
Done with acrylic paint and just a basic acrylic medium to paste the images on. Took me about six hours.
